International President Madame Yoshiko Nakano addresses about 300 members of
OISCA Philippines during the OISCA Philippines Day 2007 in Mambukal Resort in
Murcia recently.
Madame Nakano said the climate crisis brought
about by the global warming is intensifying at such an increasing level and
is a serious threat to humanity. She said we must continue to advocate
OISCA’s vision towards a new spiritual culture, and that is to be conscientious
in our lifestyle and to passionately protect our environment.
OISCA Philippines Chairman of the Board
and Sagay City Mayor Alfredo G. Marañon, Jr. said the event is one of
the well-attended OISCA Day ever held. He also thanked the provincial government
headed by Governor Joseph G. Marañon and Vice Governor Isidro Zayco for
sponsoring the event.
Provincial Board Member Dino Yulo stressed
the significant role OISCA play in conserving the environment and lauded their
environmental programs in Negros Occidental.
Officers and members of OISCA Bago and Silay
branches were also inducted into office by Past President and member of the
Board of Directors, Atty. Magdaleno Cortez.
A tree planting was held commemorating
this year’s OISCA Day at the Mambukal Resort with Madame Nakano.
80 pupils of Taloc Elementary School
of Bago City entertained the guests with bamboo musical instrument and flute
ensemble.

Marañon, OISCA Bago Training Center Director Mr. Shigemi Watanabe and
wife Thelma, Director for Overseas Project OISCA International Mr. Nagaishi,

OISCA Philippines Secretary Mr. Welman Valencia, OISCA Bago Branch President
Mayor Ramon Torres, OISCA Ahuy Branch President Mr. Jet Roxas, OISCA Bayawan
Branch President Atty. Vic Alabastro, OISCA Canlaon Branch President Gregory
Mapa, OISCA Sagay Branch Arthur Ardosa and OISCA Silay Branch Mr. Jaime Golez,
OISCA members from different branches, OISCA trainees, scholars, farmers and
ex-trainees from Japan.

the occasion.
OISCA" is an acronym of "Organization
for Industrial, Spiritual and Cultural Advancement". It was organized
in 1961 by Dr. Yonosuke Nakano as a permanent voluntary organization in Tokyo,
Japan.
OISCA’s mission is to contribute to
humanity's environmentally sustainable development through a holistic approach
emphasizing the interconnectedness of agriculture, ecological integrity, and
the human spirit. To accomplish this, we implement and advocate hands-on experiential
