SAGAY CITY - - - - Sagay City Mayor Alfredo G. Marañon,
Jr., Mrs. Jean Torre-Rivera, president of Riverside College, Mr. Joaquin
Torre, president of Dr. Pablo O. Torre Memorial Hospital and Dr. Hector
Torre, chairman of the board, Dr. Pablo O. Torre Memorial Hospital led
the groundbreaking rites of Dr. Pablo O. Torre Emergency Clinic and Birthing
Home Building at the Sagay City Government Center, Brgy. Rizal, this
City recently.
Mrs. Rivera said this emergency clinic and birthing home building will
be utilized exclusively as a training facility of the nursing students
of the Riverside College and hoped that it will help the city government
in the delivery of basic health services.
Mayor Marañon thanked the benefactors for their generosity as
this will help immensely in the delivery of basic health services to
the people of Sagay.
A memorandum of agreement (MOA) was signed of 15 years which will be
renewable for another 15 years upon its expiration at the option of both
parties.
The Riverside College will provide funds for the construction of the
building as well as the medical equipment and Supplies necessary for
the maintenance of the said clinic. The City will provide for the medical
personnel, maintenance and repair and electrical supplies of the clinic.
The MOA further provides that Riverside College shall pay the Sagay City
Government P500.00 for every delivery performed by its students, an amount
for the honorarium of physician and staff, will provide clinical instructors
for its students on a 24-hour duty and secure payment of an affiliation
fee with the Department of Health every semester.
